2013 Summer Institute
Welcome to Nanaimo-Ladysmith Public Schools' and Vancouver Island University's 2013 Summer Institute! This year's two-day summer institute focuses on sharing evidence-based instructional practices and the Response to Intervention Model.
The first day of our institute provides participants the opportunity to learn more about instructional approaches that integrate Aboriginal Understandings, Self-Regulated Learning, Inquiry-Based Learning and Balanced Literacy. Sessions are designed to be practical, fun and engaging as educators explore innovative educational experiences and research that promote student learning.
The second day of our institute hosts international Response to Intervention expert, Dr. Christopher Weber. Dr. Weber will be guiding our conversation regarding the "Why" behind RTI and the critical need for collaborative teams.
Our two days are filled with learning opportunities to develop our professional knowledge and kick-off our 2013-2014 school year!
Session presentations, handouts and links to relevant materials are posted on each session's tab.
